As a young man Tessla imagines the fluorescent tube. As he thinks about Edison’s incandescent bulb, he realizes that light given off by a heated wire is limited and inefficient. It is merely a bridge between candles and plasma light. He knows he will amaze audiences holding plasma in his hands. His vision of the plasma state and its ability to produce powerful light will reshape the future world. Looking at earth from space, people will see plasma light illuminate the shores of continents. And Edison will be remembered for inventing the electric chair.
