Discovery of the entrance in abandoned overgrown ruin

Garden cleared; Entrance cleared; Discovery of interior caves

Evidence of occupation during WWII discovered

Detritus removed to outer cave

Mountain wall partially plastered; Appearance of apparition

Dust garden created.

Stone walls enforced; Viewing platform created

First exhibition with natural light

 

June - August 1999:

 

Vault repaired; discovery of large stone cistern

Evidence of occupation during the time of Marquis de Sade's rule of Lacost

Second Dust Garden created

Video equipment installed

First video controlled light projection series: "Dante's Cave", "Nervous Nervous Systems"

 

May - August 2000:

 

Outer caves cleaned; Mountain wall plastered; Dust moved to new entrance space

Discovery of striated hard packed dirt floor; Removal of dirt floor;

Discovery of small cistern and fire pit; Evidence of pre-Roman Celtic habitation

Second Dust Garden created for entrance cave

Vault support columns installed and viewing seat built

'Light Door' constructed

Installation of luminous prints over pits

Second video controlled light projection series: 'Water to Trees', 'Hand', 'Painting'

 

June - August 2001:

 

Third Dust Garden created for entrance cave

Stone floor examined; Evidence of stone tools used to shape floor

Possible habitation by pre-Celtic or Ligurian groups

Sculptures created for outer Dust Garden and fire pit

Cave lighting with LED's

Third video controlled light projection: "S-matrix particle theory of water as light"
